Makeup Essentials for Hot Summer Days

makeup

I don’t know about you, but the thought of wearing a lot of makeup on a hot, humid day just sounds absolutely awful. When I was in Bali, I wore very minimal makeup, there was no need for it, especially because 20 minutes after applying it, I would have sweated it entirely off my face. However, even when I’m dying from the heat, I like to still look a little presentable, you know? Which is why I have a couple of staple products that I use to achieve a light, put together look for hot summer days.

Instead of foundation, I’ve been using bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. Which is kind of like a BB, CC cream and tinted moisturizer all put together in one. Not only do I get a light, natural coverage when I use this, but it also includes an SPF of 30 which allows me to protect my face from the sun without applying sunscreen that always ends up breaking me out!

After I apply my Tinted Hydrating Gel, I still like to give my face some dimension and color, which is why I love using my NYC Sunny Bronzer. Not only is this bronzer really inexpensive, ($2!!), but when I take a large, fluffy brush, I’m able to warm up my face without it looking muddy or like I did a dramatic contour.

I absolutely loovee my Becca Highlighter in Opal. I love just adding this to my cheekbones, cupids bow, and if I’m not doing an eyeshadow look, adding it to my eyelids as well! This shade just compliments the bronze, natural face look perfectly, without looking over done and once again adds some dimension to my face.

Lastly, waterproof mascara is a must! I currently don’t have a favorite one, but I’m using the Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies mascara at the moment and really liking it! Just about any drugstore, waterproof, mascara will get the job done though! It’s essential to make sure the formula is waterproof so I can make sure it’ll stay on my eyelashes throughout the day.
