A Weekend in Melbourne: Adina Northbank Apartments Hotel Review

A Weekend in Melbourne: Adina Northbank Apartments Hotel Review

A couple of weeks ago, I got back from the most amazing trip to kick off 2019. My parents were visiting my partner and I in Australia for the New Year, and we all decided to travel around Australia and New Zealand while they visited. We stopped at Canberra, Lakes Entrance, Melbourne, Australia and flew from there to New Zealand where we rented a camper van and drove around the South Island for a week. Travel Guides for all the locations listed above will be up on my blog soon, so make sure to subscribe to stay up-to-date with my Travel Guides!

It was such an amazing trip and any excuse to travel, I jump on the opportunity. If you didn’t know, about a year and a half ago, I moved outside of Sydney, Australia from the U.S. Living outside of Sydney, you get all the amenities of a major city, so to be honest, visiting Melbourne wasn’t on the top of my agenda of places to visit.  I feel like a lot of cities are very similar with shopping, restaurants, things to do etc. I love visiting nature destinations with amazing views like hikes on the coast, or waterfalls, landmarks in the area, that sort of thing. However, my assumption about Melbourne could not have been more wrong and within a couple of days, we fell completely in love with the city.

In just two short nights, we had an absolutely amazing time in Melbourne and a huge part of that was our accommodations at Adina Apartments Hotel Northbank located right in the heart of Melbourne. I am absolutely thrilled to say that I got to work with Adina Northbank and try out their newly refurbished apartments in Melbourne to review for my blog. Opportunities like this are amazing and I’m so happy I get to provide my viewers with a completely honest review and give you an in-depth look at the Adina Northbank Apartments in Melbourne.

When I’m looking to book a hotel, I’m always someone who Google the place to see pictures from guests or blog posts to really see what the hotel is like and not just the picture-perfect images that are on the company’s website. However, the images of the Adina Northbank are not a lie. The hotel is newly refurbished into a beautiful, trendy, and comfortable, spot in the center of Melbourne. Since they’re apartment style rooms, Adina Northbank includes many amenities that you wouldn’t normally find in a traditional hotel and therefore really increases the level of comfort during your stay.

As I mentioned, my partner and I were traveling with my parents so we stayed in the two-bedroom apartment complete with two full bathrooms and a full-size kitchen. However, if you don’t need all that space, they also have other options like a studio apartment and one-bedroom apartments. Along with the flexibility of room style, the rooms are very reasonably priced, especially considering the location in Melbourne. Price depends on the type of room and the time of year, but at the moment you can stay at Adina for as little as $113 a night, which I think is a total steal!

When you first walk into the two-bedroom apartment, you are greeted with an overall view of the space. Located in the living room, there’s a comfortable two-seater couch, coffee table, desk, table and chairs, and a number of different modern decor pieces which really pull the space together. The space has everything you need and would find in a traditional apartment and then some, making you feel like you’re right at home and not missing anything.

With the four of us, a typical hotel room would get really crowded, but with this spacious apartment layout, we were able to lounge around the living area doing our separate things or enjoy spending time together and watch a movie. It was really awesome to have that flexibility and level of comfort that’s normally really hard to find in a traditional hotel room.

Especially if have some work to do like I did while we were away, this studying desk is absolutely perfect. I know a lot of people travel with their computers, so it’s great to have a place to put it when traveling. It was especially great for me because I was able to get some blogging, but even without having work to do, just having a designated space for your computer is great for researching things to do in the city, places to eat, and to upload some of the awesome photos from your trip.

After traveling for a few days, it was amazing to see that the two-bedroom apartment at Adina Northbank also included a full-size washer and dryer. This was desperately needed as we’d been already traveling for a few days when we arrived and we had a long journey still ahead of us. We were able to do a couple loads of laundry free of charge and in the convenience of our room- a lot handier than going to a laundry room or laundromat!

Another huge convenience of this apartment was the full-size kitchen. This was great for breakfast and my parents even ended up cooking dinner in the kitchen one night. Having a kitchen just makes life so much easier when traveling and will save you a lot of money with not having to eat out for every meal. I also love traveling with a kitchen because I’m also able to eat healthier with being able to cook for myself or storing fresh fruits and vegetables in the fridge. Sometimes with traveling, all I’m craving is a home cooked meal, so having a kitchen at the Adina Apartments was really great. This kitchen came with just about everything you need; cups, plates, silverware, cooking utensils, tea, kettle, microwave, oven, stove, and dishwasher.

The two bedrooms were very similar in terms of decor and style which really makes this apartment have a nice flow to it. Both bedrooms had a custom built-in closet so you’re able to nicely organize your belongings. I’m definitely someone who completely unpack and hate living out of a suitcase when traveling, so being able to actually hang clothes up and stay organized while traveling was really nice and a detail in the space I really appreciated.

The master bedroom of this apartment has its own private bathroom, a king size bed, dual night stands, A/C unit, and a private TV. The second bedroom was nearly identical, although without a TV. While the second bedroom didn’t have a TV in the room, it did have access to the balcony which, in my opinion, had a much better view of Melbourne than any TV could give you. It was really nice going out on he balcony in the morning and drinking my morning coffee and taking in the view.

I really loved the modern decor aspects of this apartment. You can tell that it has been remodeled and everything is very clean and comfortable. The velvet blue color really makes the space look glamorous and sophisticated.

Along with the bathroom in the master bedroom, there is also a second bathroom in the common living room area. Since there was four of us, we just had two of us use the bathroom in the master bedroom and two of us use the bathroom in the living room. This worked really well because we were able to have our own space and I could set all my products and toiletries on the counter which is something I need to do to feel organized and efficiently do my nighttime and morning routines.

The apartment itself comes with many amenities including a pool, gym, sauna, restaurant and bar, and typical hotel amenities like 24-hour reception and room service as well. As I mentioned, our room had a full-size kitchen. Kitchenettes are available in the studio apartments and full-size kitchens are in the one and two bedroom apartments.

To match the modern vibe of the apartment, the lobby is beautifully decorated and is a comfortable place to wait for a taxi or even for your morning coffee.

As I mentioned, the Adina Apartments Hotel Northbank is located right in the heart of Melbourne with the Tram located right across the street and Southern Cross Train Station right down the street making transportation extremely easy. The apartment is also only minutes away from tons of restaurants and landmarks in the city so walking around is the perfect way to explore when staying at the Adina Apartments.  If you’re looking for recommendations on what to do in Melbourne, a complete Travel Guide will be up on my blog soon, so make sure to Subscribe so you get notified when the Travel Guide is live!
