The Park Residence & The Spa at Nugget Point – Queenstown Girls’ Getaway

New Zealand is definitely one of my favorite places I’ve traveled to.

Since moving to Australia two years ago, I’ve traveled to different parts of New Zealand two other times. When the opportunity arose for me and two of my girlfriends to have a Girls Weekend Getaway, New Zealand, and more specifically, Queenstown was my first choice.

I visited Queenstown briefly at the beginning of this year when I did a 7-day road trip around the South Island of New Zealand with my parents and partner. We only spent one night in Queenstown and I knew it was someplace that I definitely wanted to explore more.

When planning our Girls Getaway, we knew we wanted a combination of comfort, relaxation, and adventure, and Queenstown was definitely the perfect match for that.

During our Queenstown Getaway, we stayed a couple of nights at the Park Residence Hotel and got to spend the day at The Spa at Nugget Point. The two together were the perfect combination for our Girls’ Getaway.

Our Wandering Mind was lucky enough to partner with The Park Residence Queenstown and The Spa at Nugget Point, but, as always, all opinions are completely my own.

The brand-new Park Residence apartments are located less than a ten-minute drive out of Queenstown Town Centre in Arthur’s Point. Everything in Queenstown is fairly close to each other so even though you feel like you’re in a peaceful retreat away from the busyness of Queenstown, you’re only actually a short drive away.

Queenstown has stunning views everywhere you look and The Park Residence was no exception. If you’ve ever seen the amazing Queenstown outdoor hot tub photos overlooking the river, this is where the Park Residence and The Spa at Nugget Point are located.

Both locations are surrounded by views of the historic Shotover River and Queenstown ranges which can be seen from every window, balcony or patio.

During our time at the Park Residence, we stayed in the Two-Bedroom River View Apartment. This apartment was not only incredibly spacious and upscale, but it had the ambiance of a cozy retreat at the same time.

Just because The Park Residence is luxurious with its furnishings and details, doesn’t mean it’s also not practical as well.

Apartment accommodations are always my go-to when it comes to vacations away from home. Not only is there a lot more space in an apartment than a standard hotel room, but having the functionality of things like a kitchen and washing machine makes the accommodations so much more comfortable and The Park Residence was no exception.

When you walk into the Two-Bedroom River View apartment, you’re greeted with lots of natural light and beautiful furnishings.

The kitchen and the living space is at the centre of the apartment with either bedroom on opposite sides. The kitchen is very aesthetically pleasing and extremely practical with plenty of prep space to cook, a kettle and toaster, microwave, full-size oven and cooktop and a dishwasher also included. The kitchen also featured everything you would ever need to cook including utensils, pots and pans, and baking dishes. We ended up making dinner at the apartment one night and breakfast both mornings. Especially since we had an early morning for our Milford Sound tour, making breakfast at our apartment was definitely ideal and extremely convenient.

I love to experience the restaurants and food everywhere that I travel, but sometimes, you just want a home-cooked meal or something really quick. Having a full-size kitchen in your accommodations allows you to have the flexibility to prepare food while traveling.

At the center of the kitchen is a large wooden table which is not only gorgeous but practical as well. With four chairs around the table and additional chairs located throughout the apartment, there is easily room for a few more around the table, along with the additional four-seater table out in the balcony.

The living room has to be one of my favorite spots in The Park Residence River View Apartment.

The living room was the perfect combination of luxury and coziness at the same time. This living room featured all the amenities for a perfect movie night. We were able to watch some Netflix movies on the Smart TV on the wall and have some nights drinking wine by the fireplace. Regardless of what you’re looking to do, the living room is the perfect entertaining space.

The Park Residence was also super kind and left a delicious cheese platter for us which was the perfect way to unwind from the New Zealand adventures we had that day.

The details in the apartment make this space truly beautiful. There were tons of decorations that I was absolutely obsessed with and which truly made the space feel really well put together.

If you wanted to put a little bit of this retreat back in your house, the art displayed in the Park Residence apartments is available to purchase, which I think is a pretty cool touch and definitely a great way to share local artist’s work.

Off of the living space is one of the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms were very spacious and have stunning views of the river, but the bedroom off of the living space would be considered the master bedroom due to the attached ensuite and access to the outside balcony.

The bathrooms feature a modern design with custom heating, rain showerheads, luxurious linens, heated towel racks, hairdryer, soap, and an extremely large medicine cabinet with plenty of storage for all your toiletries.

The amount of storage available at The Park Residence makes it the perfect accommodations to not only stay a weekend away like we did, but you could also easily stay a week or two comfortably with the amount of space and amenities available.

The second bedroom is on the other side of the apartment. I especially liked this layout because it gives each guest their own separate retreat within the apartment itself. Although the second bedroom doesn’t have an attached ensuite, it has absolutely stunning large windows and the bathroom is located conveniently right next door, which works perfectly as the guest bathroom and also features the washer/dryer combo machine.

Both bedrooms are appointed with very comfortable king-size beds which can be converted into two twin size beds, which is great if traveling with kids or a larger group.

The furnishings in the bedroom were modern and comfortable.

The Park Residence Hotel not only had all the basic amenities of a rental apartment, but the luxurious amenities that you would find in a hotel like the heated bathrooms, robes, and lux linens. Each contemporary apartment features hypoallergenic high-quality bedding, a spacious open-plan living and dining area, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, one or two bathrooms, and patio or balcony. Daily housekeeping service is also provided, which is not always common when staying at an apartment-style accommodation.

Needless to say, you’ll be more than comfortable at The Park Residence in Queenstown.

If you’re looking to expand on your peaceful retreat in Queenstown, the Spa at Nugget Point is the perfect escape.

Located adjacent to the Park Residence, you can enjoy the breathtaking alpine and river views from one of the private outdoor hot tubs or pamper yourself with a massage in the Roman style atmosphere in The Spa at Nugget Point.

When planning our visit to Queenstown, I knew, after seeing countless photos on Pinterest, that I wanted to take advantage of the outdoor hot tub with stunning views. The Spa at Nugget Point’s outdoor hot tub overlooks the Shotover River, which is exactly as pictured on Pinterest.

Not only were we able to enjoy the picturesque Queenstown outdoor hot tub experience, but we were able to do it conveniently right next door to our apartment!

Stepping into The Spa at Nugget Point, we immediately felt at peace and relaxed with the Roman baths, indoor plunge pool, marbled bath, steam room, sauna and beautiful rose mosaic showers. With specials constantly going on, you can easily and affordably add a visit to the spa to your accommodation package.

Between the accommodations at the Park Residence Hotel and The Spa at Nugget Point, this retreat, located only a couple of minutes from Queenstown, is the perfect location for a Girls Getaway or a Family Vacation with a relaxing twist.

Not only will your family be more than comfortable with all of the amenities and accommodations that the apartments offer, but you’ll also be able to relax and enjoy your time away with the deluxe inclusions available at The Park Residence and Spa at Nugget Point.
